As you may have noticed, we are facing challenges in the form of increasing prices of our artisanal chocolate bars. The global rise in chocolate prices is directly linked to the impacts of climate change on cocoa production.
According to recent studies and reports, cocoa production is being significantly affected by changing weather patterns, including droughts and excessive rainfall, leading to decreased yields and lower quality cocoa beans. These climate-related challenges have resulted in a notable increase in cocoa prices worldwide. The International Cocoa Organization reported a 136% increase in cocoa prices over the past year alone, attributing much of this rise to climate change-induced supply chain disruptions.
At Chi Chi Chocolate, we are committed to sourcing only the finest ingredients for our products, which includes supporting sustainable cocoa farming practices. However, the rising costs associated with procuring high-quality cocoa beans necessitate an adjustment in our pricing structure.
Effective May 7, 20204 there will be a slight increase in the prices of our handcrafted chocolate bars.
This adjustment allows us to maintain the exceptional quality and ethical sourcing standards that you have come to expect from Chi Chi Chocolate.
